- Although Alan Ayckbourn has never written a role for a specific actress, the role of Sasha in Sugar Daddies was conceived with the actress Alison Pargeter in mind. She had appeared in the Damsels in Distress trilogy and Alan wanted to create a role which he hoped would challenge the actress.
- For the 2013 revival of Sugar Daddies at Seattle's ACT, Alan Ayckbourn has taken the rare step of altering the climax of the play by re-writing Sasha's final dialogue with her sister. This is unusual for the playwright and the altered text will be carried on this website following the production of the play.
- Although credited as Alan Ayckbourn's 63rd play, Sugar Daddies was actually written after his 64th play Orvin - Champion Of Champions. As it premiered before Orvin - Champion Of Champions in the Stephen Joseph Theatre's 2003 summer season, it is considered an earlier play.
